Being Olivia

With fashion week coming up it gives me the chance to delight in Olivia Palermo's supreme satorial choices. Even in her off-duty wardrobe she still remains classically cool with that french girl type chic. What really amazes me is how the combination of her glossy hair and looks combine to make one effortless look - something I can only dream of!

Any girl who can cycle in heels like that deserves to be my girl of the month.

Leighton Meester for Missoni

As Blake Lively dons her tweed skirt and boucle jacket, Leighton Meester is as part of Missoni's Family and Friends S/S '11 Campaign shot by Juergen Teller.

The Campaign is said to have been inspired by the Beetles album cover to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The shoot is bright, fun, and lively, and shows a new side to the Missoni Label. I like a lot.

Anna Dello Russo

Just adore Vogue Nippon's Editor at Large. Her eccentric style is so inspiring and a joy to watch, but she can tone it down and still remain chic and classic. True style icon.

Christmas Time.....

Well I was planning on posting about Dune's fabulous pre-christmas sale yesterday but after one too many mulled wines in Glasgow's German markets, it never happened. And I have fantastically left my camera lead in Gala so no uploading of photos over Christmas. However the sale is still definitely worth a look especially for some christmas party shoes, there are still bargins to be had!

I got these lovely red booties cut down to half price

There are also some other styles which wouldn't go amiss in any wardrobe

The leopard print ones remind me of my dream shoes (more of them later) that I am would gladly chop off my arm to have.....at least a finger or two anyway.

Oh! What a Night

Well it was the turn of the British Fashion Awards last night, most awards were as expected with Lara Stone scooping the model of the year but she did look fantastic in a white - what else - Calvin Klein dress, representing the brand at its best since shes their new campaign girl along with Diane Kruger.

Don't you just think her eye make-up makes the dress seem ever more fabulous?

Phoebe Philo won best designer most deservedly for her work at Celine which this past Autumn/Winter has been the source of many a trend - eh hello capes?

Although she is not my favourite french designer - Isabel Marant have you lost my number? - I do admire her work and love almost everything she produces. Heres one of my favourite looks from her A/W 2010 show.

You can never go wrong with a bit of leather, and the orange clutch just makes the outfit pop.

A Surreal Experience

We've started our sewing classes recently and for our first project we were to take a men's white shirt and turn it into something we would wear linking to the surrealist theme, which we've been studying. Was a hard task with so many amazing ideas coming from everyone and it was really cool to see how people had interpreted the theme in their own way. We were given about 3 days to complete the task then told to put on a fashion show to showcase our hard work, which apart from the music stopping early went quite well! I got to model my own shirt complete with huge hair and heels, the getting ready was definitely the best part. Tutors and other years came to watch and take photos, so all that was going through my mind was not to fall over - completely underestimated how hard walking down a runway is! My shirt is the one above and I was going for a more dreamlike approach with cuffs and collars in places you wouldn't expect them. Look completely terrified but it was a good day enjoyed by all.

Freshers' Fun

So Freshers Week has been and gone, and our classes have now started. Our course seems to be more informative at the moment and looks at the more business side of fashion, which is all fine and dandy but I really want a shot of the print making and sewing. I just want to start making clothes really! Although we are having a gallery visit on Monday in Edinburgh so we have all decided to make a day of it! Also been vicitimised in my Fashion Marketing class and am being made to do a presentation on Tuesday, luckily I have some marketing experience so it shouldn't be too bad........but I'll leave you with a fabulous pic of us at Freshers, clearly enjoying ourselves
