Tie-Dye...Again

So the tie-dying continues but actually this time its dip-dying. Worked out rather well although it was a pain in the ass trying to wash the dye out without it staining the rest of the tee thus destroying said dip-dye effect. I like how it didn't die the thread and I realise I should know why due to that 12 week textiles class in first year but since I fell asleep within the first 5 minutes of every class, the reason escapes me.

Now that that brief period of our summer is over, I'll be back to dip-dye/spike more of my wardrobe.....it's so cool it hurts....

Jeffery Campbell Eat Your Heart Out

So I had a pair of shoes that were a bit too high class and elegant for me left over from the VOWS ceremony in November. Having decided the only thing for them was to spike them up and make them look slightly cool, I spent my hangover Sunday doing just that. They look kinda lethal and turns out they are. My Dad asked if they were some kind of protection device for going out whereas my younger brother told me if I'm not careful, I'll become an emo........maybe one day.

And this is how my summer shall be spent....spiking and dyeing things, using Linda Evangelista's face to photography them on. Timmins would be proud.

Tie-Dye Jumper

I have been eBaying my life away the past week. Mainly due to work not giving me enough hours and realising I still have a massive credit card bill to pay off. On another note why is it we insist on treating ourselves once we've paid off a bit of it? By adding more back on??? So I have actually managed to sell a few things, one pair of shoes went to Latvia for someones girlfriend (I don't really want to know whether he's actually a tranvestite or a pimp), and the rest have been dotted about the country. Have subsquently raided everyone else's wardrobes to continue making my fortune.

I made this jumper though during the Easter break. Initially I was going to stud the collar and cuffs til I realised they weighed down on it too much and the shape was lost. Then I was going to bleach it white with tie-dye til I got bored waiting for it so its now lilac which I actually prefer. Still smells of bleach though....

Hey Kids,
So long time no blog I know, but I have been hard at work finishing off second year at Uni and then after that I don't really have an excuse. This is a look I wore towards the end of last semester on another succesful night out in Gala. It was the Take Me Out event that happened at the Students Union and also featured on FazFashionDiary.blogspot.com which is another really cool blogger to come from Galashiels. I recommend!
Shirt - Hollister; Skirt - Oasis; Shoes - Topshop; Rings - H&M, Topshop, Accessorize, Miss Selfridge, Vintage.

Finished Magazine Shoot

As promised heres the final edit of the leather shoot. It was for our tongue-in-cheek entertainment in the arts magazine based in Scotland. Basically a cool fashion magazine with drinking dens in it for Scotland. How strange is it that we don't really have anything like that minus the Skinny? None that is really big anyway?? Hezza-Watt I'm looking to you....

Fashion Magazine

As part of our CAD class this semester we had to produce an online magazine which our group got far too overexcited with and collected enough content to make the Vogue September issue look like a pamphlet. Major cutting ensued and we managed to actually produce something we were reletively pleased with. This is the originals from the photoshoot, was based on ways of wearing leather but I'll post how we edited them later....

Sportswear in Fashion

So for this semesters Fashion Design for Function class we had to create a collection that was inspired by a sport & a high fashion designer, but would be sold in a high street store. Confusing I know, but we picked track & field as our sport & Jil Sander as our designer to go along with our boxy shapes and clean lines. Then picked French Connection to represent our clothes - hence the burgundy. All went rather well until we started having major cock ups with fabrics but we got there in the end!

Complete collection line up.

This is my design and yes that is a PVC jacket you are seeing before your eyes. Most stupid decision of my life, PVC does not like to be sewn!

PVC jacket has a sheer panel across the bust, in-seam pockets & zip front with over-exaggerated hood. Then leggings have sheer side panelling. DELIGHTFUL!

Works well as a collection in my mind but let me know what you think...I know the fits a bit dodgy in certain areas but try to ignore and look at the designs.
